“As a parent and school volunteer at Canton Charter Academy, I am extremely happy with the staff and administration. I have two sons, one went from 4th through 8th grade and the other has gone from kindergarten to fifth grade. I have experienced every team of teachers at every grade! The teachers have always been kind and helpful to me and my children. It is very comforting to have such strong communication on a daily basis with the teachers and staff.
The Principal and Vice Principal are extremely accessible and work together as a team. As a parent, if you take the time and put in the effort, the involvement and feeling of home away from home is second to none.
Every morning the whole school meets in the gym and participates in opening ceremony. The parents, teachers, and students all say the Pledge of Allegiance and the Canton Charter Creed. Birthdays are acknowledged and the principal speaks to the children about current upcoming events in the school.
The Moral Focus of the month is another thing I love. Each month the school teaches a virtue, such as integrity, compassion, and cooperation. The virtue is stressed throughout work and play.
The students wear uniforms, white and blue for grade school, and green and khaki for middle school. This reduces competition among the students regarding their clothes and places the emphasis on what is important -- education and studies.
The middle school is small, however, the kids are close and the atmosphere is safe. There is zero tolerance for drugs and extreme behavior. The students must look presentable and treat classmates and teachers, staff and adults with respect.
Canton Charter Academy has my vote for excellence. It really is a great place for children.”
